Barbara Dittrich is a nationally published author and speaker with a special heart for the disabled and their families. Wife to her beloved Steve for 16 years, she is the mother of three children all under the age of 12. With one child whom has special needs, Barbara faces life's challenges with humor and compassion. Founder of Special Needs Parents Network©, she energetically shares with others what God has hidden in her heart as she walks in devotion and obedience to Him.

Barbara possesses 13 years of experience in the investment industry which she left in 2000 for full-time motherhood and ministry. During that time, she served as an ambassador for the Oconomowoc Area Chamber of Commerce. She also served on the personnel committee for Lutheran Homes of Oconomowoc and as treasurer of the St. Catherine of Alexandria parish council.

Having served as a volunteer for over 20 years with the Great Lakes Hemophilia Foundation as both board member and committee chair, Barbara presently serves as chairperson of the organization’s Advocacy Committee. She is also an approved educator for Project Red Flag’s Woman-to-Woman Program which offers information on women and bleeding disorders.

In September of 2006 Barbara was named to the Board of Directors of the Christian Council on Persons with Disabilities (now LIFT Disability Network). She continues to support others in the arena of disability ministry by coordinating regional meetings for ministries in the Midwest region.
